Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic Underground Mining

Join a team supporting production at specialized zinc and graphite mining operations in Gouverneur NY. Were seeking an experienced HDE Diesel Mechanic to maintain troubleshoot and repair heavy-duty underground mobile equipment in a safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose maintain and repair heavy-duty underground mobile equipment and diesel engines.
• Service transmissions drivetrains hydraulic and pneumatic systems 12/24V electrical systems pumps compressors and electro-mechanical controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance scheduled services inspections and fluid/filter changes.
• Complete welding and fabrication repairs including frames brackets and bodywork.
• Accurately complete maintenance reports inspections and service records.
• Work collaboratively with site crews to maximize equipment uptime and safe production.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel earth-moving or underground mobile equipment.
• Experience in diagnosing diesel engines drivetrains hydraulic systems pneumatic systems electrical systems and related components.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to read understand and follow written and verbal safety instructions.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to safely perform essential duties in a safety-sensitive environment.

Preferred Experience

• Underground mining equipment such as haul trucks loaders (LHDs) bolters or similar equipment.
• Candidates from heavy construction quarry aggregate equipment rental or similar heavy equipment environments are encouraged to apply.
