Position Summary

Zachry Construction is seeking an experienced Heavy Construction Field Mechanic to join our FieldMechanicis responsible forinspecting diagnosing repairing andmaintaininga variety of heavy construction equipment from major manufacturers including Caterpillar John Deere Link-Belt Manitowoc/Grove andGomaco. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability safety and performance of equipment used on Zachrys heavy civil projects.

WhatYoullDo

• Diagnose and repair mechanical electrical hydraulic and drivetrain issues on heavy construction equipment.
• Interpret parts and service manuals to properlyidentifyrepairs and order the necessary replacement parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and accurately document equipment condition and required repairs.
• Maintainaccuraterecords of all daily maintenance and repair activities.
• Operatetools and equipment safely and follow all Zachry policies and OSHA regulations.
• Ensure all work is performed to a high-quality standard and equipment is returned to service in a safe operational condition.
• Maintaina clean and organized work area.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and equipment operatorsregardingneeded repairs and completed work.
• Perform otherduties asassigned by the supervisor.

WhatWereLooking For

• Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in heavy equipment maintenance or completion of a diesel technology or related technical program.
• Proficiencyin working with equipment from major manufacturers such as Caterpillar John Deere Link-Belt Manitowoc/Grove andGomaco.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for engines transmissions hydraulics electrical systems A/C units and onboard control modules.
• Welding and fabricating experiencea plus.
• Computer skills for diagnostics and reporting preferred.
• Valid Class B CDL with X endorsementpreferred butnotrequired.
• Must provide personal hand tools (up to 1½ wrenches and sockets); larger specialty tools are supplied by Zachry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable safety-conscious and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced field environment.
• Flexibility to work nights weekends and extended hours as required by project needs.
• Physical ability tolift upto 50 pounds climb on and off equipment and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
