Job Summary

Job Summary:
The Healthcare Support Specialist is one of the primary points of contact forthe medicaloffice. The Healthcare Support Specialist helps coordinate the care of the patients and serves as a liaison with the patient medical staff and provider of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcomesandgreetsall patients and visitors in person or over the phone.
  • Registerswalk-innew patients and updatesand verifiesexisting patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and insurance or financial information.
  • Checkspatients inthroughintakefacilitatingpatient flow by notifying the provider of the patients arrival being aware of delays and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
  • Schedulesin houseMRIsandreferrals.
  • Scheduling andrescheduling offuture patientappointments.
  • Collectingpatientcopayscoinsurancesand allowablepayments andreconcilingthese paymentsat the end of each dayin your daily batch ledger.
  • Verifying Insurance
  • PreppingClinicSchedules
  • Responds to patients prospective patients and visitors inquiries courteously.
  • Protects patients rights bymaintainingconfidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Keeps office supplies within the clinic adequately stocked byanticipatinginventory.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical ExperiencePreferred
  • 6 months plus of relevant experience scheduling in a medical office environment
  • Experience working with medical EHR Athena experience preferred.
  • Experience in Orthopedics or Pain Management is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Travel to coverdifferentlocationsmay berequired
  • Able to standandsit for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift 25 pounds or more
