Job Summary
Education: An Associate of Arts degree in Medical Records Sciences from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five years of experience compiling and maintaining health records to include one year of supervisory responsibility.

1. Candidates may substitute current registration as a Registered Health Information Administrator or as a Registered Health Information Technician by the American Health Information Management Associationfor the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute two years of experience supervising employees engaged in health records processing and maintenance in a health records program for a health care facility or programfor the required education.
may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a non-commissioned officerin Medical Record classifications or Patient Administration Specialists and Health Services Management specialty codes in the health records management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
- Experience in healthcare laws and standards including HIPAA CMS gudelines and The Joint Commission (TJC)
- Experience in leadership strategic problem-solving budgeting and cross-departmental communication skills to manage a large matrixed healthcare team
