Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Some college preferred.

Experience
HIM/Medical Records: Minimum 1 year in HIM/medical records or related fields
Medical Record Regulatory Requirements: Working Knowledge Required
Analytical Skills: Intermediate required
Problem Solving Skills: Intermediate required
Data Analysis Skills: Basic required
Research Skills: Basic required
Computer Skills: Intermediate required
Microsoft Office: Working knowledge required
Knowledge of the Health Record: Working knowledge required
Medical Terminology: Preferred
EHR Terminology: Basic Required
Scanning Documents: Preferred
Coding/Billing Knowledge: N/A
Preferred Licensure: RHIT or RHIA
Preferred HIM Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in an acute care medical records department; Minimum 1 year experience in ROI or Analysis role in an acute care setting
