Action Inc. is seeking an exceptional educator to lead its Head Start Program where every child is given the opportunity to begin school healthy confident and ready to succeed. Through strong partnerships with families the program provides high-quality early childhood education health nutrition and family support services that help create brighter futures for children in our community. The Head Start Director guides a dedicated team committed to giving children the strongest possible start in life making this more than a leadership role; it is an opportunity to shape the future of children and families.


Key Responsibilities

Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of approximately 40 staff creating a culture built on trust collaboration accountability and continuous improvement.

Ensure the Head Start program remains fully compliant with all federal Head Start Performance Standards and grant requirements.

Oversee all aspects of program operations including education health nutrition transportation family engagement enrollment and special services.

Develop and manage program budgets in collaboration with the Fiscal Department while ensuring responsible stewardship of public funds.

Build strong partnerships with families community organizations and local agencies to strengthen services for children.

Support coach and develop managers and staff while fostering professional growth and high-quality service delivery.

Collaborate with the Policy Council Executive Leadership Team and community partners.

Ensure safe welcoming and well-maintained facilities that provide an exceptional learning environment for children.

Requirements

At least a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development Education Human Services Public Administration Business Administration or a closely related field.

Experience in staff supervision non-profit budget management and program administration consistent with the Head Start Program Performance Standards.

Demonstrated ability to lead coach and develop a multidisciplinary team.

Strong organizational strategic planning and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build productive relationships with staff families Policy Council governing bodies and community partners.

Ability to interpret and implement federal regulations Head Start Performance Standards and organizational policies.

Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality early childhood services.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic data management systems.

Valid Montana drivers license with an insurable driving record.
