Exa is building a search engine from scratch to serve every AI agent. We build massive-scale infrastructure to crawl the web train state-of-the-art embedding models to process it and design super high performant vector databases in rust to search over it. If you like compute we also own a $5M H200 GPU cluster (and soon 5xing that) and regularly spin up batchjobs with tens of thousands of machines.

We are rapidly building the most intelligent search engine in history. Were high agency low-ego and united by the feeling that this is one of the last problems worth getting right.

As our Head of TechOps youd own everything that keeps Exa running. From IT infrastructure and device management to office buildout security compliance internal tooling and onboarding. If it touches how we operate its yours. Were pretty flexible on where you focus based on your strengths and interests but you should be comfortable being the person who owns this function end to end.

What Youll Do

• Own IT infrastructure end to end from device procurement MDM identity and access management and endpoint security

• Lead office buildout and operations as Exa scales

• Build and maintain security and compliance programs (SOC2 ISO 27001) from the ground up

• Set up and manage AV and conference room infrastructure so the team can move fast without friction

• Own employee onboarding from a tech and ops perspective making sure everyone is set up and productive from day one

What Were Looking For

• Experience managing IT infrastructure and MDM at a fast-growing startup

• Has set up and scaled office operations from scratch ideally across multiple locations

• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (SOC2 ISO 27001)

• Experience with identity and access management

• Has owned AV and conference room infrastructure
