Summary of Job Duties:
The Development Assistant for the Office of Development and Constituent Relations in the Graduate School and International Education (GSIE) will assist in supporting GSIEs approved fund raising goals and strategies by effectively communicating with colleagues donors alumni and constituents regarding fund raising efforts.

This specific role will mainly be administrative in nature including database management and record keeping as well as occasionally planning events or meetings.

The Development Assistant will work 20 hours a week performing duties at the Graduate School as well as elsewhere on campus as needed to meet the goals of the program.

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least one year of experience in a customer-facing administrative communications or closely related role

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable in using standard computer applications including word processing spreadsheets databases internet applications and membership databases with the ability to learn new platforms as required

  • Skilled in marketing event management communications and in using social media

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when managing sensitive information including financial reports and constituent data

  • Ability to communicate professionally in English both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work well in a small high-energy organization; a collaborator willing to take on new challenges with demonstrated ability to partner with staff and member volunteers
