The Groundskeeper performs a variety of tasks in weed and litter control at designated County AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintains County facilities by pulling or cutting weeds from tree wells and open all trash and other debris from County maintained power equipment such as push mower sickle mower and in spraying of weeds applying fertilizers and trimming (s) in this classification may handle sensitive and/or confidential records plans documents or decisions that require maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. *The above information is intended to outline the general nature and scope of the duties required for this position. It is not an exhaustive list and may vary depending on specific job assignments and QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or (1) year of work experience in grounds keeping landscaping or general maintenance INFORMATIONSCREENING AND COMPLIANCEThe offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following:Successful completion of a post-offer employment medical examination and background to all County safety all FEMA training(s) assigned to this of a valid New Mexico drivers license by the date of hire and maintenance of a valid license while employed in this required supervisor training if CONDITIONSWork is performed outdoors with exposure to natural weather conditions of spring and is exposed to occasional noise and vibration factors in the operation of is exposed to dust fumes and is performed on even and uneven terrain. Surfaces may be wet dry natural ground or paved. Work may be performed on inclines and occasionally on hazards include dust chemicals such as herbicides fertilizers pesticides and power equipment and as part of a crew under close TOOLS AND MATERIALSUtilizes the following tools and equipment: sickle mower push mower sprayer weed-eater power blower pruning shears ladders and assorted hand tools utilized in grounds goggles boots dust masks earplugs and occasionally respirators are utilized in performance of essential County vehicle on an occasional basis in the performance of essential duties.
