Job Summary
**Day shift: 4am-12pm**
Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a highly focused Grossing Technician to join our Pathology this role you will perform all necessary procedures pertaining to accessioning technical preparation grossing and dictation of all pathology Surgical & Cytology specimens. This individual must function with a high degree of technical expertise regarding handling of specimens to ensure accuracy of diagnoses made from specimens submitted for evaluation.
What Youll Do:
- Completes Gross description and dictation of simple surgical specimens.
- Picks up pathology specimens from various locations throughout the hospital campus.
- Assists Pathologists and Pathologist Assistants in the designated procedures
- Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of Pathology and Cytology preparations and procedures.
- Displays proper use of required laboratory equipment
- Assists with basic or designated Histology procedures.
What Were Looking For:
- EDUCATION: High school diploma. Two years of college coursework completed (40-60 credit hours) with emphasis in a science curriculum 12 hours science credits preferred. Associates of Science Applied Science preferred.
- CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: Valid CPR certification.
- MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience working in Cytology Preparation and/or Histology Processing preferred with knowledge of medical terminology.
