Job Goal(s):

The primary job goals of the GSRP Third Teacher are to support the teaching teams in providinghigh quality services to students enrolled in the program.

Qualifications:

Education:

• High School Diploma

Additional Certifications/Training Desired:

• Training and experience in HighScope Preschool Curriculum
• Training and experience in COR Advantage
• CPR and First Aid Certified

Work Experience:

Previous work experience in early childhood is preferred. Preference to candidate with knowledgeof the Great Start Readiness Program services.

Essential Job Functions:

Skills:

• Complete all childcare and school related background checks (required)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
• Experience working with persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
• Assist in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher.
• Support teaching team in gathering observations and data to support child assessment.
• Serve as official substitute staff for lead or associate teacher when assigned to that role.
• Assist with general housekeeping and food preparation tasks.
• Treat all children and their parents with the ultimate respect and dignity.
• Attend all meetings and recommended training programs and professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality about children and their families.
• Supervise and participate in outdoor play.
• Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
• Make student-centered decisions
• Adhere to federal state and VBISD policies and procedures
• Model VBISD guidelines: Respect Integrity Compassion and Excellence
• Complete assigned responsibilities within agreed upon timelines
• Seek ongoing improvement and accept feedback in a professional way
• Perform additional tasks responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Director or Superintendent.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand bend and move up and down from the floor throughout the day
• Lift 35-50 pounds
• Must have the stamina and agility to run or move quickly

Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
