Position Summary

The Grant Manager is responsible for the overall lifecycle of grant acquisition implementation and programmatic management within the Elko County School District. This position focuses on technical grant writing securing competitive and formula-based funding and providing program oversight for federal state and private grants to align with district strategic goals. The Grant Manager coordinates with school leadership project directors and the finance department to ensure grant initiatives are successfully executed and compliant with programmatic regulations. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer or designated district administrator.

  • Write well-organized compelling and clear grant applications (including formula and competitive grants) through various funding platforms such as ePage EASY and G5.
  • Identify new grant opportunities from federal state and private sources that align with district strategic targets and educational initiatives.
  • Ensure grant projects are feasible by collaborating with district leadership to meet strategic targets educational goals and required grant timelines.
  • Determine appropriate formats for data presentation programmatic narratives and evaluation metrics to address specific funding agency criteria.
  • Collaborate with the finance and accounting department during the budgeting phase to ensure grant proposals include accurate and allowable cost estimates.
  • Monitor program implementation and progress against approved grant goals ensuring key milestones and deliverables are achieved.
  • Prepare and submit all required programmatic quarterly and final narrative reports to grantors and funding agencies.
  • Maintain district compliance with federal and state grant regulations program guidelines and administrative policies.
  • Coordinate relevant consultations related to federal grants including Title I Title II-A Title IV and Title VI.
  • Conduct annual Tribal and Private School consultations and assist in organizing required public input meetings.
  • Provide technical assistance training and guidance to school administrators project directors and staff regarding grant provisions guidelines and compliance.
  • Attend necessary technical assistance conferences professional development workshops and state or federal compliance meetings.

Position Expectations

  • Maintain a positive proactive relationship with district-wide constituents school leaders and funding agencies to ensure grant success and efficient process management.
  • Demonstrate specific knowledge of federal state and private grant processes compliance expectations and programmatic reporting standards.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to strictly adhere to grant application deadlines and reporting timelines.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills including technical writing editing and narrative presentation.
  • Maintain proficiency with standard office software spreadsheets grant management portals and technical reporting platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with fiscal services personnel to align programmatic outcomes with budget guidelines.

Position Requirements

Education and Training:

  • Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution in Education Public Administration Communications Business Administration or a related field OR 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in professional/technical writing program development and grant management.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid drivers license that allows the applicant/employee to legally operate a motor vehicle in Nevada.

Experience:

  • Experience in technical writing including various state federal and/or non-profit grant application formats.
  • Experience in project management program evaluation or educational program administration preferred.

Work Enviroment

Strength: Sedentary/Medium Exert force to 50 lbs. occasionally 10-25 lbs. frequently up to 10 lbs. constantly or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift carry push pull or move objects.

Physical Demands: Frequent reaching handling repetitive fine motor activities talking and hearing. Vision: Frequent acuity and occasional far acuity.
