- Description of Job
The Grant Contract Specialist supports the State Historical Fund by managing the grant contract process from award through execution. This position prepares contracts processes amendments and extensions coordinates procurement and vendor documentation supports encumbrances maintains accurate contract records and works collaboratively with Resource Specialists Grant Operation Manager Finance/Procurement. The position helps ensure grant agreements are processed accurately on time and in compliance with State of Colorado fiscal and contracting requirements.
Work Includes but is Not Limited to the Following
Contract Drafting & Processing
Prepare grant agreements contracts and intergovernmental agreements.
Review award documentation budgets scopes of work and exhibits for completeness.
Prepare approval packets and manage routing through execution.
Maintain complete contract files in Fluxx and agency systems.
Contract Amendments & Lifecycle Management
Prepare and process amendments modifications and extensions.
Monitor contract aging and upcoming expirations.
Maintain amendment history and contract documentation.
Generate reports and identify workflow improvements.
Vendor & Procurement Coordination
Coordinate vendor onboarding and procurement documentation.
Support encumbrance and contingency activities with Finance/Procurement.
Assist with updating and reconciling Fluxx with internal tracking systems.
Provide technical assistance regarding contract requirements.
Professional Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service to internal staff and partners.
Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and consistency.
Communicate professionally and manage competing priorities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Three (3) years of professional experience in contract administration procurement grants administration fiscal administration accounting auditing public administration or closely related work;
OR
a combination of education and relevant experience equal to three years.
Preferred Qualifications
Formal knowledge or work experience in preservation public history anthropology archaeology
Experience with State of Colorado contracting or procurement.
Experience administering grants and public funds.
Experience using Fluxx DocuSign or similar systems.
Strong organizational analytical and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.

Fair Pay & Compensation: History Colorado is committed to pay equity. The posted salary range represents our good faith estimate for this role. Final offers are determined by a comprehensive salary analysis in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act considering factors such as a candidates relevant experience education work location and internal equity.
