Description of Work

The State Library of North Carolina is seeking an enthusiastic Grants Assistant to join our team! The Grants Assistant supports the Federal LSTA Grant Program by performing record-keeping and reporting requirements of the program and monitoring grant recipient adherence to state and federal rules and regulations governing grant expenditures. This position works closely with the Federal Programs Consultant and the State Librarys Budget Officer to ensure accurate financial reporting and procedural compliance on all grants and serves as a point of contact for grant recipients throughout North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

Process record and track all grant-related documents including applications awards agreements reimbursement requests and payments.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for the Federal LSTA Grant Program to ensure compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.
Monitor grant recipients adherence to applicable regulations and financial guidelines governing grant expenditures.
Collaborate closely with the Federal Programs Consultant and the Librarys Budget Officer to support accurate financial reporting and procedural compliance.
Serve as a primary point of contact for grant recipients providing guidance responding to inquiries and supporting them throughout the grant cycle.
Organize maintain and retrieve grant-related data and documentation to support audits evaluations and program improvements.
Contribute to the Administration Section by supporting general administrative operations participating as part of the administrative team and assisting with office processes communications and departmental coordination as needed.

  • Demonstrated experience with travel requests and/or reimbursements

  • Demonstrated experience building and sustain effective working relationships with peers and/or colleagues.

  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Position/Physical Requirements

  • Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday 8-5.

  • This position is deemed eligible for hybrid telework under DNCRs Telework Policy.

  • Must be able to lift up to 20lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation.

This is a time-limited position subject to funding availability which may last up to 36 limited employees are eligible forState Benefits. Although the length of time this position will be active cannot bedetermined it has the potential to extend up to 3 years (36 months). Division Description

The Library of North Carolina is a Division of the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) and includes four Sections. These Sections are the Accessible Books and Library Services (ABLS) Government and Heritage Library (GHL) Library Development (LD) and Administration. ABLS provides physical and digital materials programs and services to North Carolina residents who cannot use standard print materials due to visual physical or reading disabilities. GHL is a hybrid library that is the permanent repository for state government publications and collects and provides information about North Carolina government history culture people and environment. LD provides services to libraries across North Carolina including the administration of state and federal grants continuing education a library catalog and resource sharing consortia certification for public librarians and statewide library programs and services. Administration includes Division leadership administrative support budget a human resources liaison and the communications team.

Veterans and National Guard Preference
