The Alaska Department of Fish and Game Division of Administrative Services is recruiting
for a Grants Administrator 2 located in Juneau Alaska!

What you will be doing:
This position manages the full life cycle of complex state and federal grants and cooperative agreements ensuring compliance with all requirements while supporting program staff. Key duties include reviewing applications and proposals analyzing budgets managing awards and contracts completing FFATA reporting and closing out federal revenues and expenditures. The role also provides cross coverage for other grants staff to maintain continuity of operations.

The working environment you can expect:
This position is based in the Juneau Headquarters building and offers convenient access to ample unrestricted parking. The incumbent can expect daily interaction with the DAS team and frequent communication with division staff and outside vendors through teleconference TEAMS and in person meetings.

  • Customer Service: Works effectively with clients and customersincluding the public agency staff other agencies and external organizationsto assess needs provide information and assistance resolve issues and meet expectations.

  • A Department of Administration Division of General Services Procurement Level III Certification will be required to conduct procurement on behalf of the agency as the procurement officer of record. This position will work towards attaining that certification and continuous certification will be necessary. This position will be responsible for enrolling in applicable re-certification classes required to maintain the Level III certificate.

  • Additional training from the Department of Transportation & Public Facilities for construction certification will also be required.

  • Valid Alaska Drivers License preferred.


Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Grants Administrator 1 with the State of Alaska.

OR

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in

  • Accounting: Knowledge of traditional accounting practices including accrual obligations and costs methods.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing evaluating and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws regulations and guidance.
  • Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements practices and procedures for soliciting receiving reviewing and processing proposals and awarding and administering grants and agreements.
  • Reasoning: Identifies rules principles or relationships that explain facts data or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
  • Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform ones job; works with understands and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in accounting grants administration budget administration procurement professional services contracts and/or providing administrative support to a business or organization.

Typically gained by means the prevalent usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.

Training and education in this guidance are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. A misdemeanor crime of domestic violence is an offense that is (1) a misdemeanor under Federal or state law; and (2) has as an element the use or attempted use of physical force or the threatened use of a deadly weapon committed by a current or former spouse parent or guardian of the victim by a person with whom the victim shares a child in common by a person who is cohabiting with or has cohabited with the victim as a spouse parent or guardian or by a person similarly situated to a spouse parent or guardian of the victim.
