General Definition of Work
The job of the Grant Specialist is done for the purpose/s of performing a variety of instructional and financial activities and/or projects related to all departments of the district including but not limited to supporting grant projects; completing site visits; monitor state and federal procedures for compliance; and recording updating and reconciling fiscal information.

Specialist Salary Schedule (10%) and Title I funds (90%)/Full-Time/240 days

Essential Functions
- Assists the Director of Federal and State Programs district administration and Title I school personnel with developing budget plans.
- Continuously assesses all grant programing needs.
- Inputs grant data budgets and related documents into required platforms.
- Completes monthly site visits of grant projects and activities to ensure compliance.
- Coordinates the training of parent and family liaisons for the purpose of establishing a strong viable program that empowers family members to be partners with their childrens schools and advocates for their children.
- Completes program evaluation and reviews the data with district and school staff members
- Develops and implement family engagement professional learning opportunities so school and district staff have the tools to make all Title I families feel welcomed and want to remain engaged in their childs educational career
- Serves as liaison with community agencies
- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Title I Program
- Participate in meetings workshops and seminars (e.g. staff meetings in-services etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities assigned.
Knowledge Skills Abilities
- Knowledge is required to perform basic math including calculations using fractions percents and/or ratios; read technical information compose a variety of documents and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems.
- Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes working knowledge of current generation office software and grant databases.
- Skills are required to perform single technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions.
- Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include preparing and maintaining accurate records using and/or teaching pertinent software applications.
- Ability is required to schedule activities meetings and/or events; routinely gather collate and/or classify data; and consider a variety of factors when using equipment.
- Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods.
- Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of types of job-related working with others some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate.
- Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include being attentive to detail; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; communicating with people with diverse technical knowledge and skills; maintaining confidentiality; and working with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading guiding and/or coordinating others; and tracking budget expenditures.
- Ability to utilize some resources from other work units may be required to perform the jobs functions.
- Ability to meet both state and district deadlines for reporting.
Education and Experience
- Masters degree in education Education Specialist or Doctorate Degree.
- Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Special Requirements
- Must have and maintain a valid Drivers License or ability to provide own transportation.
- May be required to travel to school district buildings and professional meetings.
- Prior to beginning employment negative tb test results must be provided.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Work requires the occasional exertion of up to ten pounds of force
- Work regularly requires exchange of accurate and detailed information through oral and written communication
- Constantly operates a computer and other office business equipment
- Ability to remain in stationary position for required meetings/work
- Ability to move to other work locations
- Visual acuity requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work and observing general surroundings and activities
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications
- Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data operating standard office equipment and the use of advanced technology
- Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office light traffic)
- Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions
- Must be adaptable to performing under mild to high levels of stress
- Must be on-call as a regular part of the job

Applicants must submit official transcripts three professional references with at least one supervisory reference and a copy of the appropriate credentials as part of the application process.
Pre-Onboarding and Employment Requirements
As a condition of employment and prior to onboarding the district will conduct a criminal history background check. The recommended candidate will be required to provide personal information necessary to complete the background check such as date of birth gender and race to remain in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. As part of the pre-employment process candidates will be required to submit TB test results and complete designated employment tasks.
