This Part-Time position is funded by a grant and is anticipated to be available for three years. Continued employment beyond the grant period is subject to the availability of additional funding and organizational needs.

Under supervision performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties involved in the support of a City department; and provides general information and assistance to the public. Exercises no supervision.
Examples of Duties

Examples of duties specific to the Museum of Redlands:

  • Provides general information regarding the Museum of Redlands Museum Store merchandise public programs classes workshops event rentals and other Museum-related opportunities;
  • Assists with Museum Store operations including processing sales tracking merchandise supporting inventory controls and maintaining accurate records;
  • Stocks merchandise restocks sold items organizes displays and ensures shelves and merchandise areas are clean attractive and well maintained;
  • Assist with the planning coordination and implementation of Museum-related events workshops classes programs and other creative or community-focused activities;
  • Assists with event rental coordination including responding to inquiries identifying client needs supporting room layout planning and providing on-site assistance for some events;
  • Supports publicity and outreach efforts for the Museum Store Event Pavilion events classes and programs including assistance with social media news media flyers and related communications;
  • Designs prepares prices and maintains custom floral pieces for events individual requests and Museum Store sales;
  • Consults with customers rental clients and event participants regarding floral needs and preferences;
  • Coordinates set-up take down of room configurations for special events; and
  • Provides customer service and supervises program activities and participants.
Qualifications

Education:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
  • One year of responsible clerical experience involving assisting management or administrative staff.
Special Requirements:
Essential functions and duties require the following physicalabilities and work environment:
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment;
  • Ability to travel to different sites and locations;
  • Regularly required to talk or hear;
  • Regularly required to stand walk sit twist turn kneel bend squat and stoop; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; and
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
