Graduate Intern-Swimming

Batten University a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant for Mens and Womens Swimming. Batten University is located in Virginia Beach VA and sponsors 24 varsity sports teams supporting almost 500 student-athletes.

The position reports to the Head Mens and Womens Swimming Coach. The individual will assist with all aspects of the Mens and Womens Swimming program including recruitment of quality student-athletes scheduling managing and coaching competitions/meets planning as well as conducting practices. This individual will also be organizing team travel monitoring student-athletes academic progress equipment maintenance fundraising and other administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach. Additionally a thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA Old Dominion Athletic Conference and institutional rules and regulations is necessary.

Review of applications will begin immediately. This is a graduate assistant position. A Bachelors degree is required. Tuition remission for graduate programs is included as well as a stipend. Preference will be given to applicants with collegiate coaching experience and/or experience as a collegiate student-athlete in swimming. Must possess a valid drivers license and be insurable by the colleges auto insurance carrier.
