Purpose:
Join the Office of Career Development as a Graduate Associate! In this role you will take an active part in supporting multiple areas of Career Development. You will conduct one-on-one career consultations to help students with resumes cover letters interview preparation and job and internship searches. You will also assist with internship programming and addition you will support employer outreach efforts and help connect students with opportunities. Gain experience empowering students to make informed career decisions by guiding them through self-exploration goal setting and career planning.
Responsibilities:
Check and respond to emails from and and help answer phone calls when needed
Help manage Internship Learning Agreements (ILAs) on Handshake
Meet with students one-on-one to talk about internships resumes job searching and career planning
Work with the Assistant Director of Employer Relations to help connect students with employers and support events and the Assistant Director of Experiential Learning to help explain the internship registration process to students and share internship opportunities with students and faculty
Help plan and run career events workshops and networking opportunities (e.g. Job & Internship Networking Mixer Impromptu Interview etc)
Keep internship and employer information organized and up to date in Microsoft Excel
Review data and survey feedback to see what the office is doing well and what can be improved
Occasionally collaborate with the other offices in the Academic Success Center to support students
Qualifications:
Available to work at least 10 hours a week
Comfortable meeting one-on-one with students and leading career related conversations
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks at once
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Comfortable using basic technology (Outlook Handshake Excel or willing to learn)
Professional reliable and able to handle confidential information

All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.
Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
