Job Summary
The Graduate Admissions Evaluator is responsible for supporting the general operations of the admissions cycle and dissemination of information related to admissions to prospective students departments and colleges and to the general public.
Furthermore the incumbent provides services that are equitable inclusive and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor special populations of admitted students and coordinate with departments and colleges to resolve issues.
- Interpret admission policies communicate policies and procedures to prospective students and campus departments and colleges and recommend changes in procedures and practices.
- Ensure accuracy of student data update online admissions information and maintain the online university application.

Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.
- Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $4262 - $4300 per month commensurate with candidates education experience skills and training.
- CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4262 - $5998 per month.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to independently carry out assignments without detailed instructions while establishing effective quality control guidelines and brings strong knowledge of online student information systems and Microsoft Excel including experience generating and analyzing student data reports to support production management and proposing system improvements. This individual possesses a solid understanding of admission policies and requirements using that knowledge to resolve complex issues and respond to nuanced requests along with preferred experience researching academic information to interpret and apply applicable rules and regulations. They excel at building collaborative relationships with supervisors peers subordinates faculty administrators and staff and communicate effectively with ethnically and culturally diverse communities through strong oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate is also deeply committed to customer service consistently treating students faculty and staff with dignity respect empathy fairness and professionalism in alignment with the universitys mission values and strategic vision. Additionally they ensure operational integrity and continuity by thoroughly documenting roles and responsibilitiesspanning daily tasks to strategic outcomesand maintaining accessibility of this information for supervisors. Education and Experience
Equivalent to one year of experience related to academic records evaluation required.
Bachelors degree in applicable field preferred.

CSULB is not a sponsoring agency for staff and management positions (i.e. H-1B Visas).
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSULB will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
