Are you ready to set the standard for Premium apparel

Main purpose of the Global Shipping & Compliance Lead role:

The Global Shipping & Compliance Lead owns the end-to-end outbound shipping of samples and product to REVOLVE Own Brands team and partners around the world ensuring every shipment leaves with accurate compliant documentation and arrives without delay. This individual is fluent in both export and import processes prepares commercial documentation and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications manages U.S. Fish & Wildlife (USFWS) and other government-agency requirements and serves as the primary point of contact with global carriers. They also monitor inbound sample shipments and partner with the corporate Customs & Compliance team in Cerritos on inbound clearance. Leadership of the sample operations function is a core part of this role: the Sample Coordinator will report to this position following an initial ramp-up period not on day one but as a defined part of the role from the outset.

Major Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Outbound Shipping & Export Compliance (primary focus)

  • Own end-to-end outbound shipping of samples and product to global destinations including the USA Paris India China and others
  • Prepare accurate export documentation including commercial and proforma invoices packing lists and declared/commercial values (escalating value questions to the manager as needed)
  • Determine correct HTS classifications country-of-origin and applicable trade-program treatment for exported goods
  • Prepare and file U.S. Fish & Wildlife (USFWS) declarations and address other government-agency (OGA) requirements for applicable materials (e.g. exotic skins feathers shell)
  • Manage carrier accounts and relationships (DHL FedEx UPS etc.); generate shipping labels book shipments track to delivery and resolve exceptions
  • Ensure each shipment meets the destination countrys import and documentation requirements

Inbound Monitoring (in partnership with Cerritos)

  • Monitor inbound sample shipments from factories and fabric mills tracking status through clearance and delivery
  • Partner with the corporate Customs & Compliance team in Cerritos on inbound clearance holds exams and escalations
  • Maintain awareness of HTS/classification on inbound goods to support accurate records and smooth release

Sample & Loan Logistics

  • Coordinate loan pulls with the warehouse to retrieve existing inventory for teams
  • Oversee accurate check-in of inbound samples in the PLM system and timely physical distribution to team members (in coordination with the Sample Coordinator)
  • Maintain organized records of all commercial and shipping documentation for retention and audit

Team Leadership & Office Operations

  • Lead the sample operations function; the Sample Coordinator will report to this role following an initial ramp-up period (not on day one but as a defined part of the role)
  • Train develop and oversee the workflow of the Sample Coordinator to ensure accurate check-in distribution and shipping support
  • Provide general office and operational support expanding toward broader Office Manager responsibilities over time
  • Complete ad hoc requests as directed by management
Required Competencies:

To perform the job successfully an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Working knowledge of both the export and import processes
  • Proficiency in HTS classification of apparel footwear accessories and related goods
  • Hands-on experience preparing export documentation and commercial invoices
  • Familiarity with international carrier platforms (DHL FedEx UPS) and label/booking workflows
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer-service skills
  • Efficient focused and deadline-driven with the ability to work independently
  • Proactive self-motivated team player able to lead train and develop a direct report
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 34 years of experience in logistics shipping or import/export operations
  • Hands-on experience preparing export documentation (commercial invoices packing lists declared values)
  • Working knowledge of commercial documents such as the invoice packing list and Bill of Lading
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new systems
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Customs procedures and documentation requirements (import and export)
  • Experience classifying goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
  • Familiarity with U.S. Fish & Wildlife (USFWS) and other government-agency (OGA) requirements
  • Experience shipping internationally across multiple regions (Europe Asia etc.)
  • Experience working with a PLM system
  • Knowledge of road sea and air freight services and functions
  • Prior experience supervising training or mentoring others
  • Customs brokerage knowledge a plus
