Description
If you have experience in managing transportation and logistics services Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our St. Louis Missouri location you will be responsible for leading a motivated group of global logistics personnel as they manage the logistics service providers aligned with Copelands global logistics strategy. Through collaboration with business units supply chain as well as sales & operations leaders develop & implement strategic initiatives to improve cost on-time delivery and reliability. The Global Senior Logistics Manager works with our Copeland business unit operations Copelands Logistics Operations Team and third-party logistics providers to ensure Copelands logistics operations are reliably executed.
This role is ideally based in our St. Louis Missouri location; however consideration will be given to highly qualified candidates not in St Louis.
As the Global Senior Logistics Manager you will:
- Manage Copelands global transportation strategy
- Lead a global team that executes global sourcing activities using a standard sourcing process
- Strong communication analytical and leadership to drive continuous improvement
- Deal with ambiguity think critically to deliver solutions in support of operational excellence
- Implement transportation strategy utilizing Copelands global transportation management system
- Oversee and/or execute the data analytics required to enable continuous operational improvement and alignment with Copelands business system
- Work closely with business unit Logistics and Supply Chain Leaders across the corporation to identify mode specific cost savings opportunities and implement long term sustainable solutions to improve supply chain performance
Required education experiences & skills:
- Bachelors degree in business transportation supply chain or related field or equivalent experience
- At least 10 years experience in logistics or transportation management with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strategic relationships with global and regional logistics providers
- Global Experience
- Demonstrate an ability to drive operational change by working and excelling in a team environment
- Demonstrate an ability to interact across all levels of management within and outside the organization
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential
- Appropriate communication skills to ensure proper communication with Copeland leadership as well as local plant operations
- Relentless pursuit of root cause identification and resolution
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Project)
- Strong project management skills including analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Management experience is required
- Position requires regional and international travel (30%)
