The Opportunity

To support this ambition we are seeking an experienced Global Head of Marketing Cardio-Renal to accelerate the commercial development of the next wave of launches in chronic kidney disease (CKD) and heart failure (HF) prevention with our combination this role you will also work closely with other Heads of Marketing and with the cross-functional Global Product Team (R&D and Commercial) for pipeline assets within CKD and HF to shape the future in these disease areas and prepare the organization for outstanding global launches.

This role reports directly to the Vice President Commercial and Global Franchise Head and will be expected to maintain a high level of collaboration with global cross-functional groups (R&D Medical Affairs Policy & Patient Advocacy Pricing & Market Access Insights & Analytics Commercial Excellence Supply and Operations and others) regional leadership and local Market Company (MC) teams. You will be accountable to develop and evolve the global strategic plan execute the global operational plan and provide launch preparation support to key launch countries.

The successful candidate must be a strong matrix leader an effective communicator and a well-rounded global commercial leader with specific responsibility for shaping and implementing brand and therapeutic area strategy. Clear strategic thinking with the ability to lead and demonstrate passion for the brand and therapeutic area is required.

What Youll Do

  • Serve as the single point of contact for the Global Product Team bringing the commercial perspective into the development program.

  • Build clear effective marketing plans for the combination focusing on patient needs and market insights.

  • Work with key regions and countries to ensure the strategy is carried out and launches are successful.

  • Use feedback from key markets to define the brands positioning target audience and value proposition.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Medical Affairs Health Policy and Patient Support Pricing and Access Strategies Insights & Analytics and Regulatory. Work together to build strategic and operational plans for all markets.

  • Head the combination asset commercial sub-team and represent the commercial perspective in decision-making forums.

  • Gather and use customer and market data to guide clinical development and regulatory plans.

  • Build a plan to address key business questions and opportunities that inform and develop brand strategies.

  • Ensure revenue forecasts and business plans are future-proofed and grounded in solid customer insights product strengths competitive positioning unmet need and pricing & market access.

  • Collaborate and partner with disease experts and policy makers to represent customer and patient perspectives.

  • Lead discussions with healthcare professionals at advisory boards and conferences.

  • Identify and lead relationships with strategic marketing agencies vendors consultants and other third-party groups.

  • Collaborate alongside fellow Heads of Marketing for HF and CKD assets to build portfolio and disease area strategy.

  • Create an employee experience that ignites innovation and unites talent to deliver the business. Lead and align the team around a clear vision and purpose. Role-model AZ Values and champion AZs people strategy by attracting developing and retaining talent while building a diverse pipeline of future Commercial leaders.

Size of Team

The Head of Marketing will build the team and initially manage three direct reports 2 Marketing Directors 1 Associate Director.

Required Experience

  • BA/BS in Business Medical or Life sciences is required

  • Deep CVRM expertise and experience with broad & current up to date Global professional relationships with Key External Experts in CVRM therapy areas

  • 15 years experience in pharmaceutical development and commercialization

  • Specialist launch experience in competitive space preferably on global and/or regional level

  • Demonstrated success leading and developing cross-functional teams

  • Experience leveraging clinical data to shape brand strategies and lifecycle planning

  • Solid understanding of forecasting market research useful insight generation and competitive landscape analysis and interpretation.

  • Experience from leveraging AI and digital to drive commercial strategy and operational excellence.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence laterally and vertically with senior leadership cross functional stakeholders and across geographies.

  • Scientific curiosity

Desirable Experience

  • Advanced degree (MBA MSc or PhD) in life sciences and/or business management.

  • US commercial and launch experience.

  • US and/or global professional relationships with Key External Experts in HF and CKD.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $267913 - 401870 USD. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentivesan opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs paid time off (i.e. vacation holiday and leaves) as well as health dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
