Glass Technician

We are seeking an experienced Glass Installer / Glazier with strong measuring fabrication and installation skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented accurate safety-conscious and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

This position involves measuring openings ordering replacement glass fabricating glass and mirrors and installing a variety of residential and light commercial glass products.

• Accurately measure openings to within 1/16 inch for insulated glass units mirrors storm windows doors and other glass applications.
• Identify and document out-of-square uneven or irregular opening conditions.
• Create templates and patterns for specialty-shaped or irregular glass as needed.
• Safely remove and replace broken glass and insulated glass units.
• Repair or replace glass in vinyl aluminum and storm windows mirrored doors patio tables and similar applications.
• Fabricate glass and mirrors in the shop using hand tools and standard glass fabrication equipment.
• Cut handle and prepare glass and mirror products ranging from 1/16 inch to 3/8 inch in thickness.
• Assist with the installation of shower enclosures mirrors replacement glass and other residential glass products.
• Load transport lift and position glass materials safely.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas vehicles tools and equipment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and proper glass-handling practices.
• Communicate clearly with customers supervisors and team members regarding measurements installation requirements and jobsite conditions.

• At least 2 years of glass installation experience.
• Experience measuring and ordering replacement glass products.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately and consistently.
• Experience handling cutting and fabricating glass and mirrors.
• Familiarity with common hand tools power tools and glass fabrication equipment.
• Ability to identify irregular or out-of-square openings.
• Physical ability to lift carry and position glass safely.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

• At least 2 years of construction experience.
• Experience installing frameless shower enclosures.
• Commercial glazing experience.
• Experience creating templates for specialty-shaped or irregular glass.
• Experience working with insulated glass units storm windows mirrors and residential replacement glass.
