Gifted Intervention Specialist Challenge ProgramFull-Time School YearThe Brown County Educational Service Center (BCESC) is seeking an innovative student-centered Gifted Intervention Specialist to join our Challenge Program beginning with the school year. This is a full-time position serving gifted students in grades 36 from the Brown County School Challenge Program is housed at Southern Hills Career and Technical Center 9193 Hamer Road Georgetown Ohio and provides one full day of advanced instruction each week for identified gifted learners in the grade levels of Challenge Program provides gifted services through a full-day pull-out model administered by a licensed Gifted Intervention participate in advanced learning experiences designed to develop:Critical ThinkingCreative ThinkingDivergent ThinkingLogical ReasoningCreative Problem SolvingResearch MethodsOral and Written CommunicationInterpersonal SkillsTechnology and Keyboarding SkillsSTEM/STEAM ActivitiesInstruction focuses on extending learning beyond grade-level expectations while encouraging curiosity innovation and independent with each incoming third-grade class the Challenge Program serves students identified as gifted in:Superior Cognitive Ability and/orSpecific Academic Ability in two or more subject areasStudents are selected through Ohio-approved gifted identification assessments and participate in an enriched curriculum designed to challenge advanced learners while fostering creativity inquiry and higher-level thinking. The Gifted Intervention Specialist responsibilities include the following;Plan and deliver rigorous differentiated instruction for gifted students in grades engaging learning experiences emphasizing:Critical thinkingCreative problem solvingInquiry-based learningResearch skillsHigher-level questioningVocabulary developmentCommunication skillsCreate a positive learning environment that nurtures gifted students academic social and emotional instruction based on students areas of gifted and maintain Written Education Plans (WEPs) in accordance with Ohio Gifted Operating student progress and provide quarterly reports to with district personnel classroom teachers administrators and families to support student with gifted identification processes including interpreting assessment data and participating in student referrals as accurate records and documentation required by the Ohio Department of Education and in professional learning and program development Ohio teaching Ohio Gifted Intervention Specialist endorsement/licensure or supplemental license while pursuing the GIS endorsement.
