Job Summary

The Gift Processing Specialist is responsible for the accurate timely and compliant processing of philanthropic contributions to the Denver Health Foundation. This role serves as a critical backbone to the donor experience ensuring that all gifts are recorded receipted and stewarded in alignment with donor intent and organizational standards.

This position operates with a high degree of independence owns core gift processing workflows identifies opportunities for process improvement and partners closely with Philanthropy Finance and Operations to ensure data integrity and operational excellence.

Essential Functions:

  • Process all charitable contributions (cash check credit card ACH stock in-kind and planned gifts) with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness while ensuring proper coding designation and compliance with donor intent and internal policies. (60%)
  • Reconcile daily gift batches and support month-end and year-end close processes. (10%)
  • Generate and distribute accurate and timely gift receipts. (10%)
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives including automation and standardization efforts; develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for gift processing functions. (10%)
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration and serve as a subject matter resource for gift processing policies and systems. (10%)


Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.


Work Experience:

  • 4-6 years experience in gift processing advancement operations finance or related field required

-OR-

  • 4-6 years experience working with donor databases/CRMs (e.g. Raisers Edge Salesforce or similar) with preference given to Raisers Edge experience required.


Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of gift processing standards donor intent and basic nonprofit accounting principles
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to manage high-volume transactional work with competing deadlines
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve process issues
  • Strong communication skills for both internal and donor-facing interactions
