Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct topographic boundary and environmental surveys for sites involved in green energy and sustainable development using GPS total stations and other surveying instruments
- Process and analyze geospatial data to produce maps models and reports that assist in the planning and design of these sites
- Assist in the development of 3D models and simulations to optimize site layouts and assess environmental impacts
- Ensure compliance with industry standards environmental regulations and land use laws relevant to sustainable projects
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate geospatial data into planning construction and operational phases
- Participate in client meetings to provide geospatial insights relevant to site selection design and environmental assessments
- Continue to develop technical skills through ongoing training focusing on geospatial applications in sustainable infrastructure projects
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Geomatics Engineer I:
- Bachelors degree in Geomatics Engineering Surveying Geospatial Science or a related field
- One to three years of experience in geomatics or a related field
- Compensation $76k-$98k/ year commensurate with experience
Geomatics Engineer II:
- Bachelors degree in Geomatics Engineering Surveying Geospatial Science or a related field
- Masters degree preferred
- Three to five years of experience in geomatics or a related field
- Compensation $87k-$113k/ year commensurate with experience
Geomatics Engineer III:
- Bachelors degree in Geomatics Engineering Surveying Geospatial Science or a related field
- Masters degree or professional certification (i.e. Professional Surveyor) preferred
- Five years of experience in geomatics or a related field
- Previous experiencing managing large projects
- Compensation $101k-$133k/ year commensurate with experience
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:
- Proficiency in GIS software surveying instruments and data processing tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and good communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Interest in the development of sustainable infrastructure projects
Working Environment:
- When visiting jobsites the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions
- This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures dirt dust fumes smoke unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
