Short Description

The Genetic Counselor Entry position supports the Pediatric Genetics team with the provision of high-quality patient care. The role focuses on the coordination of genetic testing and hereditary risk counseling for pediatric patients and their families.

Coordinate and perform all services provided by the Pediatric Genetics Counseling team under the supervision of the Geneticist.
Prepare charts for clinical encounters
Coordinate genetic testing for various hereditary syndromes
Perform all aspects of hereditary risk counseling
Conduct literature reviews to identify evidence-based guidance for specific syndromes
Provide education to referring physicians and the community at large about hereditary syndromes
Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Medical Director

Experience Required

0-2 years experience in pediatric genetic counseling preferred

Education Requirements

Masters Degree Required

License/Certification Requirements

Eligible for American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certification
