About the Role

The General Pulmonologist will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient pulmonary care managing a broad spectrum of respiratory conditions while collaborating closely with primary care providers hospitalists specialists and care teams throughout the health system.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Develop efficient workflows and close relationships with referrals and community partners to continue to grow the Incidental Nodule and Lung Cancer Screening Programs
• Proficient and Experienced in Robotic Bronchoscopy Endobronchial Ultrasound and ultrasound-guided thoracentesis and chest tube placement
• Interpret diagnostic testing including laboratory studies imaging pulmonary function test
• Diagnose treat and manage a wide range of pulmonary disorders including COPD asthma pleural effusions sarcoid lung nodules etc.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis treatment options medication management and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with primary care providers specialists and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated patient care
• Document high-quality compliant clinical notes in the EMR and support clinic access throughput and patient experience
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes (e.g. lung cancer screening rates timeliness to diagnosis and treatment)
• Participate in practice call coverage and practice meetings as required

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure

• Board Certified or Board-Eligible in Pulmonary Medicine
• Active Maryland physician medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Current DEA license and Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved provider)
• Unrestricted medical license with no history of suspension or revocation
• Eligible for participation with all payers
