About the Role
The General Pulmonologist will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient pulmonary care managing a broad spectrum of respiratory conditions while collaborating closely with primary care providers hospitalists specialists and care teams throughout the health system.
This position offers the opportunity to join a collegial and growing pulmonary program with access to advanced diagnostic services pulmonary function testing imaging and multidisciplinary support. Clinical Responsibilities
- Develop efficient workflows and close relationships with referrals and community partners to continue to grow the Incidental Nodule and Lung Cancer Screening Programs
- Proficient and Experienced in Robotic Bronchoscopy Endobronchial Ultrasound and ultrasound-guided thoracentesis and chest tube placement
- Interpret diagnostic testing including laboratory studies imaging pulmonary function test
- Diagnose treat and manage a wide range of pulmonary disorders including COPD asthma pleural effusions sarcoid lung nodules etc.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis treatment options medication management and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with primary care providers specialists and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated patient care
- Document high-quality compliant clinical notes in the EMR and support clinic access throughput and patient experience
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes (e.g. lung cancer screening rates timeliness to diagnosis and treatment)
- Participate in practice call coverage and practice meetings as required
Required Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Board Certified or Board-Eligible in Pulmonary Medicine
- Active Maryland physician medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Current DEA license and Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved provider)
- Unrestricted medical license with no history of suspension or revocation
- Eligible for participation with all payers
