The Opportunity:
The General Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for dailyoversight of total plant operations and plant financial success. This role is responsible for management of all facility operations including Safety Staffing Production Financial Environmental Maintenance Quality Growth Asset Management Performance Excellence and Inventory Management.
TheGeneral Managerwill oversee the Operations Logistics and Sales teams. This position reports to the VP Plant Operations.
Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
Travel Requirements:up to 10%.

- Continuously coach the importance of company safety processes and how every teammate benefits from a safe working environment
- Ensure Safety guidelines are followed to include Near Miss Reporting High Risk Task Reporting Near Miss Reporting Incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Ensure monthly Safety Compliance and Training is completed to adhere to the RMR Safety Management System.
- Utilization of Performance excellence in Leadership analysis strategic planning customer/supplier focus workforce focus operations focus and importance of results.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- Increase production assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Utilization of Performance excellence in Leadership analysis strategic planning customer/supplier focus workforce focus operations focus and importance of results.
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- Increase production assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Manage staffing and minimize labor overtime premium freight and repair expense to achieve daily efficiency goals

What you need to succeed:
- High school diploma required with progressive high-level training in recycling and/or manufacturing industries
- 7 years experience leading plant operations OR recycling plant operations OR industrial manufacturing operations
- Leadership / Supervisory experience a must.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Previous experience in the recycling industry preferred.
- Previous General Manager experience preferred.
- Advanced understanding of Safety/OSHA regulation and programs
Required Skills & Competencies:
The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:
- Effective negotiating skills
- Ability to operate with the supplier / customers best interest in mind
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PPT and Outlook)
- Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate understand and respond to questions instructions signs signals and safety training
- Familiarity with plant office functions and Office Manager responsibilities
- Understanding of Scale operations and fundamentals
- Ability to manage operating budget participates in annual budgeting process P&L and ongoing budget indicator dashboards
- Ability to manage employee relations; review plan and execute on Employee Engagement survey.
- Provides a vision for the plant strategically ensuring resources are in line with its respective market
- Lead and be active in hiring promotion and succession planning Participating in annual talent assessment process for plant salary and hourly employees
- Maintain knowledge of customers material specifications and document all material rejections by customers
- General understanding of manufacturing equipment wear components replacement standards and its relation to performance and fiber quality.
- Ensure that all equipment is being maintained to manufacturers specifications and fast reaction/response to repair calls are being handled timely to minimize downtime.
