Job Summary
Now Hiring: General Manager - Distribution CenterAnchorage AKManages all aspects of the location to achieve maximum sales and profits with available resources by performing the following for the overall sales (professional and retail) operations production delivery purchasing and inventory control of the location. Oversees the daily operations of the location. Skilled in relevant functions and reports from the Online the development and implementation of inventory control programs to meet location inventory levels and in the recruiting hiring and training process. Helps to create and enforce staffing measures that reduce employee turnover and help to increase company employees maintains a productive workforce and trains successor management. Reviews and approves wage and salary increases and establishes objectives and performance capital improvements in view of forecasted demand for various products efficiency of current equipment etc. Institutes a cost-effective vehicle and equipment maintenance program. Reports obsolete equipment/facilities and submits recommendations regarding replacements or and reinforces company safety initiatives to ensure compliance with all OSHA and DOT and enforces company policies and procedures as well as Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as they pertain to the daily functions of all departments. Acts as a liaison between employees and management to foster a healthy work feedback on customer for budget accountability and reporting as it pertains to the financial goals of the company. Works to establish standard cost operating budgets and acceptable inventory levels. Monitors expenses and creates new methods to improve each locations financial Responsibilities:Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise in various departments. Is responsible for the overall direction coordination and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving Requirements:Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; four years related managerial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and have prior experience in building materials Environment / Physical Activity:Travel requirements range from 10-25% depending on location. While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust performing the duties of this Job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
