Job Summary
The Steam Turbine Engineer is responsible for designing both rotating and stationary structure technologies enabling world-class Steam Turbine performance and efficiency. This is a critical role requiring both system level knowledge of turbomachinery (Thermodynamics) and detailed mechanical design.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Owncomponentdesigninexecution of NPI ITR and factory/field support activities for new units and aftermarket services
- Drivetechnologyadvancements from a Shaftline System subsystem component andmaterial / life vantage points
- Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers.
- Followrigorous R&D Tollgate ProcessfromConceptualDesignthru fieldvalidationfor component design across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations. Execute appropriate engineeringanalysis (hand-calcs FEA analysis) to ensurerobustdesigns meet all required CTQs.
- Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Thermodynamics and Mechanical Design including material properties statics strength of materials fluid dynamics stress/strain fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep. Demonstrated experience with FiniteElementAnalysis (ANYSIS).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorsdegree from an accredited university or college inMechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- 0-1- year engineering experience

- The required work location is Greenville SC or Schenectady NY (relocation assistance is available)
