The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support IT project initiation technology procurement activities business process analysis and system implementation projects. The selected candidate will work closely with business stakeholders project teams procurement personnel and technical teams to gather analyze document and manage business and technical requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Analyze IT project requests and support project initiation activities.
- Gather validate and document business functional data and non-functional requirements.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews workshops and JAD sessions.
- Create AS-IS and TO-BE process flows workflow diagrams use cases and user stories.
- Develop functional specifications wireframes mockups data mappings and logical data models.
- Support IT procurement activities including SOWs solicitation documents and vendor evaluations.
- Participate in SDLC activities using Agile Waterfall or Hybrid methodologies.
- Collaborate with Project Managers Architects Developers QA teams and business stakeholders.
- Support UAT requirements traceability and solution validation.
- Prepare project documentation status reports and work estimates.
- 5 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst supporting IT projects system implementations or technology procurements.
- Strong knowledge of Business Analysis methodologies and SDLC processes.
- Experience documenting AS-IS and TO-BE processes and developing UI mockups.
- Expertise in requirements gathering analysis documentation and management.
- Experience facilitating stakeholder meetings workshops and JAD sessions.
- Strong analytical communication presentation and organizational skills.
- Experience creating process flows workflow diagrams and functional specifications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience developing Statements of Work (SOW) procurement and contracting documentation.
- Strong interviewing facilitation negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
- Experience supporting government or public-sector IT projects.
- Experience with procurement lifecycle documentation and vendor management.
- Experience with workflow automation and business process improvement initiatives.
- Experience using Jira ServiceNow Visio SharePoint Balsamiq or similar tools.
- CBAP Certification preferred.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Systems Information Technology or related field.
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
