What You Will Do:
Support leak survey and cathodic protection activities through field inspections monitoring testing troubleshooting and data collection.
Inspect maintain and assist with the repair of leak survey corrosion detection and cathodic protection equipment to support reliable operations.
Help maintain system maps records and documentation that support regulatory compliance and operational requirements.
Conduct field testing and assist with special projects while partnering with regional and area operations teams to coordinate work activities.
Identify and communicate field observations operational concerns and testing results escalating issues as appropriate.
Follow company standards DOT requirements and safety procedures to support safe compliant and efficient operations.
Perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions while contributing to the integrity and reliability of the natural gas system.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Who You Are:
High School Diploma or GED.
Up to one year of related experience or a strong interest in developing a career in natural gas operations.
Valid drivers license and ability to safely operate company vehicles.
Ability to learn leak survey principles corrosion prevention methods cathodic protection systems and related field equipment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to read and interpret system maps and operational documentation.
Comfortable performing outdoor field work in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in utility operations natural gas distribution field operations leak survey cathodic protection or corrosion control.
Familiarity with natural gas operations procedures and industry safety standards.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily field based with outdoor work up to 76100% office environment approximately 25% and travel up to 25%.
Conditions may include exposure to cold heat and fumes up to 25% of the time.
The role requires walking 7 to 11 miles while carrying equipment weighing up to 15 pounds through mountainous terrain.
The role may require safety shoes random drug and/or alcohol testing medical clearance for hazardous materials or respirator use depending on job duties satisfactory respirator fit testing and compliance with OSHA annual audiometric testing requirements.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping kneeling light moderate lifting (objects up to 100 pounds) reaching above shoulder repetitive motion typing sitting standing visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
