Full-Time Transfer Station Attendant

The Dalles Disposal a Waste Connections company is looking for a safety mindedTransfer Station Attendantto join our team inThe Dalles Oregon.

Schedule isTuesday - Saturday

Shift is8:00 AM 5:00 PM overtime opportunities often

Starting wage is$34.98/hourwith an increase to$36.20/hourat6-monthspending a positive performance review.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.
• Safely and efficiently operateforklift backhoe and/orfront-end loader.
• May run errands usingcompany vehicleas needed.
• Measure trucks in and out and calculating payments for customers.
• Track measurement information in computer system.
• Ensure that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
• Work on your feet outside throughout your shift.
• Assisting with office duties filing and paperwork as needed.
• Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Promotescontinuous improvementof workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability tooperate heavy equipmentsafely and efficiently.
• Ability tooperate a company motor vehiclesafely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of light andheavy equipment operationand maintenance.
• Must be dependable with an ability to lead.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
• This is a physical job working in a covered area as well as outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read understand follow and enforce safety procedures.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.
• To be eligible for employment candidate must pass acriminal background check &drug panel screeningas well as have anacceptable motor vehicle report.
