Full-Time Direct Care Professional (DSP)

Annual Salary: $37799-$40091 (based on assigned program and shift)

Shift Differential: Earn an additional $2.50 per hour for eligible evening overnight and weekend shifts.

Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is hiring Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered care to adults in our residential and community-based programs.

As a DSP you will support adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) serious mental illness (SMI) and substance use disorders (SUD) while promoting independence dignity choice and community involvement.

• Intermediate Care Facility (ICF): One year of direct care experience working with adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities mental illness or experience working in an Intermediate Care Facility.
• Waiver & Day Support: One year of direct care experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities or mental illness.
• Regional Supervised Housing: One year of direct care experience working with adults with serious mental illness.

Provide hands-on direct care and support based on each individuals needs and service plan. Responsibilities may include personal care activities of daily living meal preparation medication support household routines and community ICF settings direct care may also include providing total-care assistance and using a Hoyer lift for safe transfers and mobility support.

Youll encourage independence monitor individuals well-being maintain accurate documentation and work with program staff to provide safe and consistent support.
