Job Summary
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key contributor you will design develop and maintain innovative software solutions that meet modern industry standards. You will be responsible for writing clean scalable code troubleshooting technical issues and optimizing system performance. Responsibilities:
- Modernize Architecture: Design and deploy scalable microservices moving away from monolithic structures toward event-driven serverless solutions.
- Full-Stack Development: Build modern user interfaces using React and develop high-performance services using Python with FastAPI or Flask.
- Data Lake Management: Architect solutions for the collection governance and processing of Very Large Data Sets (VLDS) within a modern data lake environment.
- CI/CD Leadership: Implement and manage robust automated pipelines using GitLab CI/CD (or Jenkins) to ensure seamless delivery and high code quality.
- Testing Excellence: Maintain high reliability through comprehensive unit (pytest/Jest) system and integration testing.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related field
- 5 years of experience in object-oriented (OO) languages with expertise in Python
- Must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph
Full-Stack & Backend Development
- UI: Extensive experience with React for building responsive modern front-end applications.
- Service Development: Mandatory expertise in Python.
- Frameworks: Hands-on experience with lightweight frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
- Architecture: Proven track record in Microservices and modern design patterns.
AWS Cloud & Serverless (Primary Focus)
- Compute: Expert-level knowledge of AWS Lambda and Step Functions.
- API Management: Practical experience with Amazon API Gateway.
- Storage & Search: Proficiency with S3 DynamoDB and OpenSearch.
- Note: Experience with ECS/EC2 is beneficial but the priority is serverless architecture.
Data Storage & Management
- Relational: Deep proficiency with PostgreSQL.
- NoSQL: Experience with MongoDB.
- Cloud Storage: Broad understanding of AWS or Azure storage ecosystems.
Build Tools & DevOps
- CI/CD: Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD (preferred) or Jenkins.
- Build Ecosystem: Proficiency with NPM (front-end) Maven and Gradle (backend/dependency management).
Desired:
- Experience in DevSecOps environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-native security best practices within a cleared environment.
- Experience handling VLDS (Very Large Data Sets) in a production setting.
- IAT Level II or III certification (i.e. Security CISSP or CASP)
