FSQ Specialist (Days)

Job Summary:The Food Safety & Quality Specialist is responsible for managing organization and maintenance of the QA department documentation including related data in Microsoft Teams SharePoint Microsoft Excel/Word InterSpec Intelex and Oracle. Additionally this position collaborates with suppliers co-packers and customers to ensure that the most current and accurate information is available for the Quality Assurance Manager. TThe FSQ Specialist works in concert with the FSQ Manager to help in FSQ-related issues such as customer complaints internal quality issues and special projects as Functions of the Job:Responsible for all data entry related to FSQ new product set-up documents/ customer compliance documents to respective data the site sensory and approve food safety and quality documentation (includes COA data) for improvement to streamline and implement effective data entry and information management processes within the food safety and team as well as the overall FSQ all product sample shipments / R&D sample requests to customers as well as 3rd party labs for testing for internal/external and report food safety and quality monthly KPIs to Corporate FSQ and FSA HOLD Program ensure compliance to SunOptas Control of Non-Conforming in management and collection of documents for certifications (organic Kosher etc.).Provides oversight and compliance to Incoming Material COA and utilizes the supplier non-conforming database (Intelex) to communicate with FSQ Manager and FSQ Supervisor to resolve specific food safety or product quality issues with suppliers and co-packers through product retrieval and shipping on advanced roles and responsibilities including special projects as customer complaints and drive root cause internal audits of critical to food safety/quality activities in the other duties as Responsibilities: May directly manage elements of the FSQ team at the discretion of the site FSQ Manager and Plant role is as the plant quality data collection and integration resource for the Qualifications:Associate degree in a scientific field and previous experience in to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and Qualifications: Bachelors Degree; preferable in a scientific in a food manufacturing Food Company FSQ experience/ and Skills: Comfortable with data maintenance activities and repetitive data analytical and problem-solving administrative and computer thinking and the ability to articulate verbally and written to all levels of -directed assertive and results verbal written multi-tasking and presentation Considerations: Location: The role will be located at the SunOpta Plant in Midlothian : This role will be a day shift position Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Some flexibility may be needed.
