Job Summary
Front End Web Developer
The Federated IT team for the Division of Residential and Hospitality Services (RHS) is responsible for coordination of all technology needs for RHS.
Reporting to the Web Team Manager the Front End Web Developer will primarily perform the following duties:
- Maintain and improve existing in-house websites and applications.
- Ensuring consistency of user experience. Ensuring compliance with MSU Branding standards best-practices and MSU Accessibility policy.
- Front-end development of new websites applications or features.
- Assisting colleagues with operations and development. Collaborating with operations and development staff to solve problems and implement solutions.
- Other duties as assigned including possible out of hours work if called in for emergent web issue resolution.
This position is an on-site position during on-boarding period and will then have ability to transition to a hybrid schedule. Scheduled hours and on-site/remote schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the business units.

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college. One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in architecture standards-compliant website design and development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience or coursework in web development or design specialization; strong working knowledge of JavaScript HTML and CSS; familiar with a content management systems (Drupal preferred); version control using GIT; a web development language such as PHP; front end development frameworks such as JQuery React Vue or Angular; wire-framing and prototyping applications like Figma or Adobe XD; and WCAG accessibility requirements for the web.
