Job Summary
Title: Front Desk ClerkProgram: St. Nicholas HouseSalary Range: $19.49/hrProgram Description:St. Nicholas is a congregate care supportive housing program located in Upper Manhattan. St. Nicholas provides permanent affordable supportive housing to 94 single adults of whom 61 are formerly homeless men and women referred through DHS. St. Nicholas is funded by DOHMH and DHS. Of those 61 clients 40 are diagnosed with a chronic mental health issue and 21 are in recovery from substance use issues. The remaining 33 units are fair market and reserved for low-income tenants referred from the local Duties and Responsibilities:The essential duties of the Front Desk Clerk include but are not limited to the following activities:Front Desk Clerks are responsible for helping to establish and maintain a safe and secure environment maintaining a clear and unobstructed building safety patrols throughout the facility and documents CCTV system and security tenant(s) and visitor(s) behavior reporting any unusual behavior to the appropriate visitors and guests announces/directs/escorts them to the appropriate location. Maintains visitor/guest accurate log entries and writes Incident Reports when necessaryAbility to use a multi-line telephone and intercom as Fire crisis intervention in emergency and contacts appropriate other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or senior :A High School Diploma or working with mentally ill and substance abusing obtain Fire Guard Certification (F-01) within 90 days of employment in this position and must keep Fire Guard (F-01) up-to-date and active while employed in this to work multiple / varied shifts as building is a 24 hour/7 day a week facility.
