Job Summary
The interpreter will provide consecutive in-person Spanish interpretation to support clear communication between the provider and the client/family. The assignment involves a sensitive behavioral health or counseling environment so prior experience interpreting in mental health therapy crisis-response settings is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate complete on-site Spanish interpretation.
Maintain a neutral and professional interpreter role at all times.
Preserve confidentiality and follow applicable interpreter ethics.
Communicate clearly in emotionally sensitive or high-pressure situations.
Qualifications
Fluency in English and Spanish.
Prior professional interpreting experience.
Experience in behavioral health therapy crisis support or other sensitive medical settings preferred.
Ability to remain calm respectful and composed during emotionally complex conversations.
Reliable local availability for an in-person assignment in Lexington VA.
