Job Summary
Watch FranUs Mission Video at: Adjunct Radiologic Technology (RADT) Instructor provides high-quality instruction to students enrolled in the Radiologic Technology Program. Under the direction of the Program Director and full-time faculty the Adjunct Instructor facilitates student learning through demonstration supervised practice competency evaluation and reinforcement of classroom concepts in a simulated and/or physical clinical environment. The Adjunct Instructor promotes student success by maintaining a safe organized and professional setting while ensuring compliance with Program University accreditation and radiation safety standards.
This position is part-time and scheduled on an as-needed basis (PRN) to provide instructional support for laboratory courses clinical courses competency testing remediation open laboratory sessions and special program activities. #CB

Laboratory and Clinical Instruction
Demonstrates radiographic positioning patient care equipment operation image acquisition radiation protection and clinical best practices
Facilitates engaging laboratory instruction and supervised clinical learning experiences that promote critical thinking and clinical competence
Provides individualized instruction coaching and mentorship to students in both laboratory and clinical settings
Reinforces classroom concepts through simulation laboratory exercises and direct patient care experiences
Ensures a safe learning environment while promoting adherence to infection control radiation safety patient confidentiality and institutional policies
Student Evaluation and Academic Responsibilities
Evaluate student laboratory competencies and clinical performance using approved Program assessment tools and grading rubrics
Conducts competency assessments in accordance with Program and Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) requirements
Provides timely objective and constructive feedback to promote student growth and clinical competence
Maintains accurate documentation of competencies clinical evaluations attendance grading and student progress
Identify students requiring remediation and collaborates with Program faculty to implement improvement plans
Laboratory and Clinical Operations
Prepares laboratory facilities and instructional materials prior to scheduled learning activities
Maintains a clean organized safe and professional library environment
Demonstrate proper stewardship of radiographic equipment phantoms positioning aids image receptors and instructional resources
Reports equipment malfunctions safety concerns and supply needs promptly to the Program Director
Assists with laboratory inventory equipment quality assurance and routine maintenance activities
Safety and Regulatory Compliance
Promotes and enforces radiation protection principles and the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) philosophy during all laboratory and clinical instruction
Ensures compliance with Program University clinical affiliate and regulatory agency policies and procedures
Models and reinforces safe patient handling infection prevention standard precautions and proper body mechanics
Maintains a safe learning environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards unsafe practices or equipment concerns
Demonstrates and reinforces compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) the ARRT Standards of Ethics and institutional policies regarding patient confidentiality and professional conduct
Supervision and Student Engagement
Supervises students in the laboratory and clinical settings to ensure safe and ethical patient care
Monitors student compliance with clinical objectives professional behaviors radiation safety practices and departmental policies
Serves as a professional role model by demonstrating accountability teamwork compassion and clinical excellence
Communicate effectively with Clinical Preceptors Department Leadership and Program Faculty regarding student performance and concerns
Professionalism
Arrives prepared and on time or all assigned laboratory and clinical assignments
Maintains current ARRT registration state licensure CPR certification and other required credentials
Maintains confidentiality of student and patient information in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA requirements
Demonstrates effective communication professionalism flexibility and sound judgment in all interactions
Collaboration and Program Support
Collaborate effectively with the Program Director faculty Clinical Preceptors and University personnel to support student learning and Program operations
Maintains timely and professional communication regarding student progress concerns scheduling and instructional needs
Participates in required adjunct faculty meetings orientation and training as assigned
Assists with Program activities laboratory preparation or special events as requested and as scheduling permits
Professional Development
Maintains current knowledge of radiologic technology practice educational methodology accreditation standards and healthcare trends through continuing education
Demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning and continuous improvement in teaching laboratory instruction and clinical education

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years clinical experience in the professional discipline
EDUCATION
- Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology required: Bachelors Degree preferred
LICENSURE
- Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration and an unrestricted Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE) License
