About Foam
Foam aims to be the highest signal tool out there to solve software bugs.
Weve spent countless hours maintaining production systems and handling on-call rotations when wed rather have spent time developing core business. Most code is now AI-generated but we fear debugging will still be left to us humans. So we decided to build Foam to ensure engineering jobs become more engaging focused on high-level technical development and creativity.
Weve raised $2.4M from South Park Commons and The House Fund. Our investors have previously backed notable companies including Pilot Transcend Perplexity AI and Superhuman.
About the team
About the role
We are looking for an experienced backend engineer to join our growing engineering this role you will be responsible for owning and expanding our core backend infrastructure.
What youll do
Designing and implementing scalable reliable backend systems
Improving the performance security and maintainability of our codebase
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address user needs and deliver new features
Staying up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and best practices
What youll bring
5 years of proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer with a strong proficiency in for backend development (TypeScript JavaScript )
Strong tenures (2 - 4 years) at reputable VC-backed startups
Experience building products from 0 to 1 or serving as tech lead preferred
Able to take undefined product thinking & independently scope
Based in the Bay Area excited to work grow our in-person eng team in SF.
Experience with LLM Applications RAG

Experience working at an AI startup
Has built complex AI applications such as chatbots
Evidence of having gone through hard experiences (i.e. CS degree at a top school; growing with an early stage startup)
