This is a founding engineering role sitting at the intersection of GPU infrastructure and financial market technology. Youll own the technical backbone of the companys compute business: building the abstraction layer that homogenizes GPU capacity from multiple providers into a unified interface and building the control-plane systems that let customers provision manage and pay for clusters. The role reports directly to the founders and works alongside a small team of engineers with backgrounds from major cloud and hardware companies. There is no existing playbook this person defines how the compute infrastructure is built.

About the company A seed-stage company building a regulated derivatives exchange to trade GPU compute positioning itself on the same regulatory footing as licensed futures exchanges like the CME. The company buys GPU hours from neoclouds and resells them to startups in its network while building the software infrastructure to make compute procurement programmable and liquid. A six-person team with CFTC futures exchange licensing in process.
What youll own
Design and build the customer-facing compute API for provisioning and managing GPU clusters across multiple neocloud providers
Build the abstraction layer that normalizes fragmented GPU capacity from different providers into a unified resource model
Own control-plane systems for cluster orchestration lifecycle management and state tracking
Integrate with GPU providers and neoclouds through APIs Kubernetes Slurm and bare-metal and semi-automated workflows
Build internal tooling to replace manual brokerage workflows with repeatable scalable software systems
Develop metering and usage-tracking infrastructure for GPU-hours and customer billing
What were looking for
Hands-on experience with low-level GPU infrastructure: kernels Slurm Kubernetes and GPU provisioning workflows ideally at a neocloud (CoreWeave Lambda or similar) or equivalent environment
Strong backend or platform engineering fundamentals: APIs distributed systems and production-quality code in Python Go Rust or TypeScript
3 years of backend infrastructure or platform engineering experience in a production environment
US citizen or permanent resident
Based in or willing to relocate to New York NY in-person with the team
Willingness to work the stated schedule: Monday through Friday 9am to 9pm
Nice to have
Experience at a high-frequency trading firm (SIG Optiver or similar) strong signal for systems discipline and performance-oriented engineering
Background at a major tech company (Meta NVIDIA AWS or comparable) with evidence of high-velocity production ownership
Experience with HFT or exchange-grade matching engine and order book systems
Familiarity with billing metering or usage-based pricing infrastructure
Experience with multi-tenant infrastructure platforms or developer-facing API products
