Forward Deploy AI Engineer - San Francisco CA - $200K-$400K

Location: San Francisco CA (In-person)

Compensation: $200000-$400000/year plus competitive equity

An early-stage AI infrastructure company is looking for engineers who enjoy working directly with customers and solving difficult production problems. This role combines software engineering applied AI and technical customer ownership.

Youll work inside customer environments helping deploy AI systems integrate monitoring and evaluation and ensure production agents perform reliably at scale.

What Youll Own

Deploy AI monitoring and evaluation systems into customer environments

Work directly inside customer codebases and production workflows

Guide customers through technical decisions around agent evaluation and observability

Own customer deployments end-to-end

Translate customer feedback into product improvements

Partner closely with engineering and customers to drive successful adoption

What Youll Bring

3-7 years of software engineering experience

Experience deploying AI or LLM-based systems into production

Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to translate ambiguous customer goals into technical solutions

Strong ownership mentality

Comfort working closely with customers

Willingness to work in person in San Francisco

Nice to Have

Prior forward deployed or solutions engineering experience

Background in AI infrastructure observability or evaluation platforms

Startup experience as an early employee

Full-stack engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals

Founder mentality and long-term ambition to build companies
