Job Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the movement of boxes totes and pallets of product throughout the warehouse in a safe timely and accurate manner. Staging for production putting away completed products and assisting with shipping and receiving tasks as needed.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING

  • Operates a propane or electric forklift in the warehouse.
  • Performs daily machine inspections in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Moves product to work areas according to the production schedule.
  • Stacks products in storage areas and loads shipments into trailer(s) container(s) and/or railcar(s).
  • Unloads full and partial pallets wraps pallets when necessary stages product for loading checks pallets for accuracy to order.
  • Maintains clean organized aisle or rack storage; consolidates partial pallets as needed.
  • Labels sorts wraps and ties inventory products.
  • Communicates with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
  • Complies with company safety policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Skills Intellectual Demands and Job Requirements:

EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Minimum of one year or more of related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees whether individually or in a team environment
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Effectively communicate questions problems and reports to co-workers supervisors and management personnel.
  • Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed.
  • Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel.
