The Role

Leaders sought. Immediate need for leaders who can drive Accountability in a Professional Civil environment. Must be able to demonstrate ability to lead with: Fairness Consistency Respectfulness and Transparency.

Supervises assigns coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill experience and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees and assists in development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans. Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings procedures etc. Responsible for manufacturing installation operation testing and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the companys performance. Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.

Additional common management responsibilities as listed in Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001 within command media (SBMC 0001) and applicants should review the Charter and policies and procedures before applying for position.

Must Have

High School and 4 years combined manufacturing shipbuilding trades military experience OR an Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing shipbuilding trade and/or military experience OR a Bachelors Degree

Internal candidates must have a Superior Attendance and Disciplinary Record.

  • Candidate cannot have more than 3 unexcused absences in the last 180 day period.
  • Candidate cannot have any safety DANS that result in a disciplinary layoff in last 180 day period.
  • Candidate cannot have more than 2 total DANS in the last 180 day period (excluding lost tool).
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned.
Nice to Have

Experience as a firewatch or in a safetysensitive with hot-work process and hazard to identify unsafe conditions and stop work when situational awareness in confined spaces elevated locations and other shipyard computer literacy for digital reporting or scheduling.
