A Food & Beverage Receiver is responsible for managing the efficient and accurate receipt inspection storage and documentation of all incoming food and beverage products for an organizations operations. Hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Role Overview

This position ensures that all deliverieswhether from vendors donors or catering partnersarrive in the correct quantity condition and packaging and are stored according to food safety and inventory standards. The coordinator works closely with operations inventory and sometimes catering teams to maintain smooth service and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and Inspect Deliveries: Unload trucks inspect products for damage shortages or non-conformance to specifications and verify against purchase orders or manifests

  • Organize and Store Products: Sort label and store food and beverage items in designated areas (dry refrigerated freezer cooler) following food safety protocols

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments; update inventory systems; conduct cycle counts; and track stock levels

  • Coordination & Communication: Liaise with vendors delivery drivers and internal teams to resolve issues arrange for damaged goods and ensure timely restocking

  • Food Safety Compliance:Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other food safety regulations; ensure proper temperature control and packaging

  • Logistics Support: Assist with delivery scheduling storage space optimization and special event preparations

  • Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks forklifts and vehicles; perform basic vehicle maintenance

  • Documentation: Prepare and file paperwork for audits inspections and compliance checks

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in warehouse or receiving preferably in food service or nonprofit food operations.

  • Certifications: Forklift certification food handling certification and valid drivers license.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale systems.

  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail problem-solving time management and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds stand for long periods and work in varied environments including refrigerated spaces

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED a plus but not required
  • Previous experience a plus
  • Must have courteous phone skills and the ability to take accurate messages
