Floater Teacher

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Job description:

The Floater is responsible for assisting the classroom lead teacher with the general supervision and management of a class of children. He or she must be knowledgeable in developmentally appropriate practices and have flexible hours that cover the centers needs anytime between 6:30 am and 6:30 pm. The Floater / Substitute is responsible for assisting teachers in supervising all children in their room ensuring activities and curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director.

This position is for our Ponte Vedra Location.

Preschool Floater responsibilities are:

• Helps and supervises children during all activities

• Counsels children when social academic or adjustment problems arise

• Ensures that the appearance cleanliness and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained

• Helps children with meal times and clean-up

• Helps with all academy and classroom paperwork such as daily notes student accident reports and attendance reports

• Attends and participates in staff meetings academy events and parent meetings as requested

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Work together with other educators discussing your progress and sharing ideas

Preschool Floater requirements are:

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position

• Must be able to adapt to teaching in any of the classrooms

• Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality

• Highly professional and dependable

• Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents coworkers and management

• Certification in child CPR with a valid licence to practice profession

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds sit on the floor and interact with children
