Position Goal:
TheCookis responsible forpreparing and serving balanced nutritious and appealing meals in compliance with federal state and district nutritional position ensures that meals are nutritious appealing and served in a positive environment that supports student well-being and academic the safe efficient and sanitary operation of a school-based cafeteria while supporting a positive environment that promotes student well-being and academic success.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated knowledge of student nutritional programs and school meal preparation.
- Proficient in basic computer applications (Word Excel and point-of-sale systems).
- Physically able to perform all required duties safely and effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development in food service operations.
- Valid and current New Mexicodriverslicense.
- Certification in Food Safety for New Mexico (SERV Safe or equivalent).
- Two or more years of experience working in a school cafeteria or food service environment.
- Experience with inventory control point of sale systems and kitchen equipment operation.
- Knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Programs health codes and state food service regulations.
- Must be willing to drive district vehicle to all school sites as assigned by Student Nutrition Coordinator.
